Persian History

Armenians were the infant stage of the developing Persian culture. The growth of this culture started 7,000 years ago. The maturity of its government as a monarchy began over 2,500 years. Among the Armenians existed other cultures and sub-cultures. There are translations made from the notes of Marco Polo’s observations on such cultures known at the time as “The Turkmen Nation.”-

“The Turkmen Nation consists of three classes. Turkomans are Muslims characterized by a very simple way of life and extremely crude speech……Armenians and Greeks live in cities and forts. They make their living primarily from trade and as craftsmen. The cities of these two cultures were subject to the Great Khan, ruler of the eastern Tatars, who appointed their governor.”

The Great Khan (1215 B.C.-1294 B.C.) ruled his father’s empire [Ghinggis Khan] in 1260 B.C. forming the Yuan dynasty in 1271-1279 B.C. It covered parts of Asia, Central Asia, the Near East, Russia, and even Europe.

Cyrus the Great (590 B.C. – 529 B.C.) was known as a high rank leader throughout human history; as well as a very humane and ethical leader. The Persian empire created by Cyrus the great was the largest at the time, therefore the empire produced a profound influence of culture, politics, and commercial trade throughout the mid-orient and parts of eastern Europe.

“I am Cyrus. King of the world. When I entered Babylon... I did not allow anyone to terrorize the land... I kept in view the needs of Babylon and all its sanctuaries to promote their well-being... I put an end to their misfortune. “
